Back in the day of phpBB2 there was a plug in called phpbb fetch posts which allowed you to pull all kinds of information from your forums database for your site. I used it to create a backend for my main site and sort of made a CMS use it to display a blog from threads in a specified forum where only admins can post, and all the replies as comments.

Is there anything similar to this? So far I've been able to check to see if someone is logged in or not and if they are display their avatar and number of private messages.
