Free ones usually dopnt offer as much support as a paid one would.

Any "FREE" domain is an unfortunate red flag to certain people, that the entire site could be running under free services, the admins are unwilling to pay for proper hosting, it could be ran by kids.

For a $5 - 10 investment, people really should consider a proper domain.
