[DEV] MyStatus
MyStatus is a status plugin that adds a feature like that in IPB3. I don't believe I've ever seen a plugin like it for MyBB save for as part of other profile mods. It allows users to enter a status update from their profile then submits it via AJAX and displays it in said user's profile and posts.

This plugin is in very early development though - I have only just finished creating a base PHP file to do the actual status submissions - I plan to convert it to work with MyBB tomorrow then have a test version running on my own site the next day. I'll keep you guys updated with a first release before the end of the week - that is, if people would like such a plugin (I don't believe there is one already though...)?

RE: [DEV] MyStatus
What for? Anyway, I have status updating working flawlessly with AJAX posting of statuses and everything. I do, however, need to know how long statuses should be? I currently have the length set at 50 characters (it can't be an ACP option I don't believe - unless I can edit databases on settings saving, but that's for another day) but it seems a tad short.

Also, I'll have screenshots ready to go tomorrow for anybody interested

Earlier than promised, but I ave some screenshots. Stills don't really show off the AJAX/jQuery goodness, but you can see the basic system. Of course, its completely template based so you can customise containers and everything to your liking from the ACP

Anyway, to see the screenshots, click here:

Got a version up for testing on my live site. You can see the statuses as a guest, but can only see the editing interface as a member. Expect a full first release either later today or tomorrow

RE: [DEV] MyStatus
Thanks euantor - I downloaded and its very cool - thanks.

One small thing - is it possible to make the status text wrap in the classic postbit? There is no limit on the number of characters that I can see (and thats not a bad thing) but as a result LONG statuses stretch the classic post bit.

I was looking at this php function here (see link) but I was unsure on how to go about modifying it (for only my own use of course) and I also think perhaps other users would like this option.
