What do you mean "disable code press"?

For those of you not understanding what he means by edit admin permissions, go here on your forum:

/index.php?module=user-admin_permissions

and click the MyCMS tab, edit the admin permissions and save and you'll have access. Now I just have to figure out what he means by "codepress", no idea what that is or how to disable it.

Disable Codepress is in the Home/Preferences of the ACP. Set it to No.
