Switching to Mybb
Hi, my name is Dennis.
I will switch from phpbb3 to mybb because the plugin/mod system is just outstanding!
Integrating mods into phpbb3 was killing me
Do you think it is a good start to work with v. 1.6 directly - just for testing?

Great choice, you will never regret it. myBB is a lot better than phpBB, it has more themes and plugins and they are easier to install & use.
Nope, I wouldn't recommend installing MyBB 1.6 right now because the script is in Beta stage and it is unstable.

I wouldn't recommend fit like Byte Hunter said if u want to start a active site but if u want test and play around with it go heead
