How to backup your forum?
(I've a bit used the myBB Wiki for my tutorial's instructions)
Backing Up Data is essential for a grown website. It makes a copy of your data and makes all the data safe.In case your site got hacked or you accidentally lost your data, there's no need of losing hope.
BUT! Before you lose it, backup! Its just like Copy/Paste.

How to Backup my myBB Forum?

myBB works by a relational database system. In computerized databases, tables and fields are used. You may see that there are many tables in your database, each table holds a unique information about your board. All the posts, pictures and everything is stored there.OK, So now lets move on
1. Login to phpMyAdmin or any other Database management software and select the database where your forum's database is stored.
2. Click on "Export".This will download all the tables of our database and will make an exact copy of our database.
3. Click "Select All" below the list of tables. This will download everything relating your forum like Members, Posts etc.
4. Chose SQL as the format.
5. Click "Save as File" to download the result, or leave this box unticked to view it on-screen.
6. Ensure that both "Structure" and "Data" are ticked.
7. Choose a compression type, if any, from the bottom of the form.
8. Click "Go".
Now your database is safe on your computer!

BUT
now you tell me that your forum is lost and you cannot think of doing anything with your downloaded file!
Don't panic. Here's how to do that!:
1. To restore a database(that you have downloaded), click the SQL tab (or "Import" tab).
2. On the "SQL"(or Import)-page , untick the show query here again.
3. Browse to your backup of the database.
4. Click "Go".
That's all!
Hope you find it useful!

This will also be helpful to the noobs.

There is another method via cron job which is much more effective.

RE: How to backup your forum?
Why not just make the backup from the MyBB ACP? It's much easier for those with no phpmyadmin experience and only requires logging into MyBB rather than both MyBB and phpmyadmin.

Making a cron job is like 20 times eaiser for a backup.

RE: How to backup your forum?
Yes, but many people who don't have much experience may struggle Also, I don't see how writing a cron job is easier than clicking "New backup", but ok haha
