Hacking is something that worries most of us, in this tutorial, I will give tips on how to protect your forum from hackers!

1)Download using an FTP client /inc/config.php from your forum and open it in a text editor (NetBeans, NotePad, ETC).

Inside the config.php file, you will see
Change it to
(Where "newadmindir", replace with your own new directory (For Example: chocolate, pop, dog, ETC)

Save that config.php file and re-upload it to the inc folder and overwrite the old config.php file.

Now, go to public_html/[forumroot] and change the name of the "admin: folder

Test it out by going to your forum homepage and then try accessing the admincp. Did it work?



2)Download and install this plugin to your forum.


3)Take regular database backups.


This should help prevent hacking, not make it impossible.
