Anyone can access 1.6....you just need to use SVN. It's not a staff thing anymore

I'm not in a rush to use 1.6 though, I can wait till they release it. Actually truth is I'm trying to decide on a new forum and whether I should start it now or wait a few more weeks or months (I assume it will be out in a month's time) for 1.6

any date of the oficial release nickman?

Same goes for me, I'll wait till the "important" plugins that I use will be updated to 1.6 and then I'll upgrade to 1.6 . For now I'll just stay with 1.4.9 which in my opinion is the one with the best performance, all other releases have some known buggs that would just harden my work and as you guys know, I'm a lazy person

I am sure NickMan knows but I am also sure he is not going to release it publically due to some agreement.

Even if Nickman knew why would he tell us when he has a contest going for when 1.6 will be released? I like the speculation and hype over 1.6 but hopefully it doesn't fail to impress the masses

We ourselves don't know when it is going to be released. (I am also on the MyBB Team). It will be released when its ready (fully coded and tested).

@Svizy - SVN is basically a system which developers can use to code. Each MyBB developer can change, add or delete files on the SVN. To get your own copy of the SVN you can use something like TortoiseSVN http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/ .
This will basically download a copy to a folder you specify. The 1.6 code on the MyBB SVN is located here: http://svn.mybboard.net/mybb/trunk

Thaks but I have tried to download that before and I was VERY confused

I don't think it will be something very special. You can check out the changes that took/or will take place in the script. I'm not so amazed but I'm waiting it because I can't launch my websites until it is released.
