how did mybbsource created that annoucement? is that a plugin? if not, how can i make my announcement like that?

There are several announcement plugins available, what you are to do is to edit it so it would look good (I think mybbsource used CSS for that).

Thats correct, the only question that would remain is if they're using an plugin or not

I use 2 at the same time (one MOD has the special permissions feature and customizable CSS and the other one has preset colors [that saves me time with getting the exact color's code ] lol)

The only plugin associated with the announcements is it redirects you to the portal page (included in the MyBB package) when you visit MyBBSource.

There is some plugins similar but not as good. But then again, MyBB 1.6 is on its way.

They wont release everything..
