You could have a look at one of my posts for a semi-tutorial on creating profile tabs in MyBB. it isn't great, but you should be able to work it out by looking at the code a little. Take a look at the below link:

Might help a little, but I'm not sure. I may be able to help a little, but I can't test anything for myself atm
