i was trying to add some of the portal welcome block functions to my welcome block header...

for example


to display new announcements since last visit.. but it doesnt seem to work ... only displays >> and no text. is the code incomplete ?

i would think that it would work as the same code displays fine on the portal

That code is only run on the portal.php page, not globally.

Plus: All that code would out put is the word New Announcements.

thought so. is there no way to run it globally .... or at least in the header templates ?

You would have to modify files or make a plugin.

yea you just need to add the portal code to the global.php
