There isn't much of a point in shoutboxes.. just something else to moderate.. imo..

Isnt there a filter to put a timer between shouts?

I think a shoutbox would deter people away from posting, which isn't much of a good thing at all.

My members voiced their opinions that they NEED a shoutbox. I lost the shoutbox after the 1.4 upgrade and I had to quickly get a new shoutbox up.

Shoutboxs can be good for some kind of communities, normally those in general chat genres. Seeing Mybbsource is a resource community, a shoutbox wouldn't really help anyone, and really doesn't seem necessary.

uhh i saw a forum that had this system called mIRC its a chatroom it was easy to use and fun

Aven, that is an addon chatbox that you can easily google and get. I have been with other forum hosts that have had chatbox addons directly from the administrator control panel. Even though they stunk they go the job done.
