Explanation

I've found a Phpbb3 version of the code on Phpbb3bbcodes.com, so all credits goes to the person who created and posted it there (wasn't specified). All I've done is made some minor changes to it so it shows correctly on MyBB.

I don't know, maybe because 50% of people type it "spamm" and 50% of people type it "spam". I just decided I'll go for "spamm"

Yes, style of it can be changed as well as the rest of the code, but I don't recommend you to change codes unless you know what you're doing

Yes, its very usefull for staff members and even for normal members. They can point out something like important messages etc.
