Hi all,
I am interested in using this mod to prevent access to the most popular posts (e.g. articles etc.) on my site until a user has shared posts of their own.

However, I am concerned that this also means the likes of Googlebot etc. will not be able to read the posts and include them in the search results etc.

After all, isn't Googlebot treated as a member when crawling the forum, but surely the bot has "No posts"?

Am I worrying too much, or is this a valid concern?

Thanks

It is a valid concern as they won't be able to read topics in forums that have a post count requirement.

Thanks Nickman,
Looks like I will have to find a way around this one then.

Any ideas?

How (and why) should you expect Google to index pages that are unavailable to the public? If you don't want anyone to see it, why would you allow Google to cache it?

His is a special case as he said it's articles instead of just a private forum active members.
