Well, where to begin,
I've always wanted to run a forum, so mybb gave me a chance to do just that.
While I know that I'll be getting abuse for keeping the mybb default theme, I have to say in my defense that I like it. The quick theme bar is at the bottom to see the other themes.

We're a new gaming community focused on competetive gaming. We're about a week old, and I hope to continue growing.

We're also focused towards experementing with video game glitches, hence the name of the site.
We also hope to have an art, musical and developmental community, and hope to have an iOS device community as well.

I hate to do this to you but here it goes.
1. Use the portal.php as the home page, the html plane page you have coded now kinda sucks.
2. Get a new transparent banner that big box doesn't match the theme at all if you are going to use the default.
3. I have no idea why you like the default, gaming has a huge theme section. I know Nano Skinners has a gaming theme so does zynge.net (not for 1.6 though could easily be converted)
4. Get a real domain get the 10$ and buy a domain, heck even a co.cc would be better I don't like the .org one atm.
5. If you are interested I could code you a better simple home page for $20.

I have a .co.cc one atm (haven't set it up yet though) , I'm waiting for my boss to pay me so that I can actually go buy a domain,
I'm working on the portal page atm, it's still in development. It's kind of squished together, and yeah, the html plane is pretty bad, I agree lol.
Theme wise, I like default because it's not too flashy and things are easy to read, I'm trying to figure out how to make themes right now, I have everything designed, I can't figure out the whole implementation part though.

I might take you up on the coding offer though.
