When do users get "promoted" on your forum?
Very random I know

So, simple question, when are users promoted on your forum? do you promoted them when they have
xxx posts?
xxx Reputation

When???

On my forums, when a user is constantly online and posting she/he will be promoted as long as
she/he has more than 100 posts
she/he has more than 5 reputation points

then I will post in the team only forum and then we will decide if she/he should join our team

How do you do it?

RE: When do users get "promoted" on your forum?
My users get promoted:

Moderator - User is helpful to others and is active forum user
MEGA (subscription) - Purchaseble and gained by wining competitions and other forum events
Crew (administrator) - Person is really good at designing omgpop logos and is very active and helpful
Designer (super moderator) - Person is really good at designing omgpop logos and has been accepted as part of omgdesign staff, but its not a very active/helpful

Thats currently it, but I'm sure there will be more ranks to achieve

I usually pick staff myself. I don't have exact requirements however I pick people based on loyalty, popularity among the whole forum and honesty.

I don't have this as they could be just 'trying' to get up to a certain level and then they spam and don't follow the rules.

It depends on you, you can always ban spammers and rule breakers. Promotions/Awards/Achievements are a good way to make your community more active

RE: When do users get "promoted" on your forum?
I usually try to only have one or two other staff members (meaning Mods or Admins), so if I haven't already selected who I think will be good, I will pick them by activity and behavior....

My usual requirements/prefernces for being a staff member are:
Be active, Post or at least login daily, have absolutely no bans or warning level, must be a member for over __ weeks/months, etc. When I have applications, my requirements to get the position will vary depending on responsibilities they will have..

And sometimes after 2,000 or so posts, I will put them in a group with LIMITED staff powers (read reports, close/open threads)
