A friend of mine has been working on a new forum software. It is called Creative Bulletin Board, or CreativeBB for short. Version 0.5 (codename: Halfway) was just released on the tenth. It is being tested right now.

Feel free to try it out by going here. Feel free to critique it also!

First off, don't mean to be mean but I got a lot of criticism...

1) The sidebar is HUGE. It takes up a lot of the screen for no reason really..it's just links. Plus when you close it, it still takes up basically the same amount of screen horizontally. It should slide into the side and allow the for the forums to be bigger.

2) With javascript disabled, a lot of stuff breaks. I know it's trying for flashy, and cool, but you have to keep it working for those with it disabled.

3) SQL usage. I'm basing this on it's counter, but 142 queries to load an unmodified index page seems to be not optimized well. Also it seems that each post

4) I think the shoutbox should either be custom, or ditch it. it looks horrible with the massive copyright that it must have because they didn't make it.

5) when on the memberlist it isn't very clear how to get to the users profile. You should put like a style='cursor:pointer' or whatever so it shows the finger IE it's a link.

It sure is clean and pretty cool. And btw Nickman, its developer is 12 years old.
And yeah it's kind of buggy, but I'm sure it'll get better and bugs will be fixed quickly.

Yeah I know. I was trying to say it's a lot of work achieved by a 12 years old boy.

It looks pretty good, although it doesn't even put a dent in the available forum softwares right now. It'll take a while and a lot of versions to get up there imo.

If that 12 old boy can get this off to jump over the internet then i believe he better prepare to get ready to update his software, Tell him to find a small team of good developers to help him out. Also he must be talent if he can get this far. I know nothing about coding we all have own talents.
