Basically you can use this tutorial to figure out how to have MyBB run right
on your computer!
:D
Things Needed:
STEP 1:
If you have the above, let's start with installing WAMP, just run the .exe you downloaded off of their website. (Which links to sourceforge..)
STEP 2:
After it's installed double click the icon that should've been created on your desktop.

Now there should be an icon in your tray. (Next to clock, anti-virus, etc.)
Click on it once, now click "www Directory"

^ that's your directory's going to look like.
STEP 3:
A folder should open.. which I think is empty. You can create a file named "index.html" with whatever editor you choose, just put some random text, open your browser type in
http://localhost or
localhost and whatever you did to index.html should show up. Just like a webpage except it's not on the internet, but on your computer!
STEP 4:
Head on over to
http://mybboard.net/ and download yourself a fresh copy of MyBB. Once you have done, extract to desktop. Drag the "Upload" folder to the wwwDirectory (which you opened in STEP 2, if it isn't open LEFT click on the icon-->wwwDirectory.)
Now you may rename the folder if you want.
STEP 5:
Create a database. Left click on the WAMP server icon in the icon tray again, except click
phpMyAdmin. In the box that pops up, in about the middle of the screen you'll find "Create Database." Type whatever you want the name to be in that box.
STEP 6:
Now it's time to install! :D
In your
browser type in http://localhost/{whatever your name is, if you didn't change it then it'll be localhost/Upload/}
STEP 7:
Going through the installer for database put whatever you made in step 5. For..
USER: root
PASS: nothing, leave it blank.
Leave everything at it's defaults. :]
STEP 8:
Your done! If you had ANY problems, or any suggestions please let me know.
Don't turn this topic into a spam fest like on my last tutorial.
Thanks for reading & hopefully it helped, Dalton.
