I want to change it to inthemood.wma

Is that a problem or must I rename the latter?

I think it's a bigger issue because of the different file type. I don't remember what code exactly is used to play the sound. Is there any way to get it to be inthemood.wav?

I have a feeling it would need to be converted to a .wav file...which takes only a couple of seconds. If you want, I can convert it for you.
