MyBB 1.4 sure is nice! I am making a Multiforums Script for MyBB 1.4 so I can host free MyBB 1.4 forums!

I think that MyBB 1.4 is a vast improvement over 1.2.X. I would compare the difference to that of PHPBB 2 and PHPBB 3. The new Admin CP is awesome!

I'll definitely be trying out 1.4 with my test forum, but don't know when/if I'll be upgrading my main forum. Too many mods that would need to be upgraded. Hopefully, everyone will be quick to do that. I never like to be the first person to upgrade to new version anyway, since there are always bugs, no matter how much testing was done.
