Getting the most out of your ads
Here's a tutorial on how to get the most out of advertisements that you may put around your site. It doesn't matter what type of ads your using (adbrite, bidvertiser, google ads ect.)

Whatever ad your using, try to place the ads on every webpage. Putting the ad on your homepage is not enough, because most people do not spend their time on your homepage, but on separate subdirectories

Ads on the bottom of your page doesn't do much. Most people won't even see the ads on your footer, and they will go unnoticed most of the time. Try to put it above the scroll so people see it before they scroll down the page.

Don't click on your own advertisements, or encourage others to do so. All this does is makes you more prone to getting your account terminated, as it is very easy to detect when somebody clicks their own ad, by their IP address. Also, if other uses begin clicking on the advertisements a lot, the company may thing that this is you on a proxy, or another computer, and terminate your account for that reason. So overall it is not worth it.

And last but not least, try to blend your ads with your site. One way that is easy to do this, is if you use the my ads mod by Nickman. This is so your ad is shown after the initial post, or after an x amount. Most advertising programs also give you the option of choosing the colors of the advertisements. Try choosing colors that fit your site, so they look more apart of your site, then a distraction.

Hope that helps with advertisements :D

I agree, although sometimes putting ads all over the site (in my opinion) is a bad idea. It makes you look cheap. . .

No. You're getting it confused with something else. Google won't you ban you if you're ads blend in with your site. They'll ban you if you trick people to clicking your ads.

That's probably what Dalton meant.
