This is my most favorite feature the MyBB thread prefix system allows you to

• Have color prefixes
• Have bold prefixes
• Have underlined prefixes
• Have italic prefixes
• Selectable forums for each prefix
• Select which groups can use each prefix
  

You can do all the styles above plus more using HTML coding. Its great.

To add a prefix, go to

Quote:ACP>Configuration>Thread Prefixes>Add New Thread Prefix.

Where is says

Quote:Prefix

this is what it will look like in the drop down menu when someone is creating a thread. For this tutorial it will say Help

Where is says

Quote:Display Style

this is where you use HTML to make it colorful, bold and italic. If you need a WYSIWYG online editor, I recommend this one. I want it to look Red, Bold and Italic so I will use HTML to produce
Which will appear like this

Now you may select which forums you want to use this prefix in and what groups you want to allow to be able to use this prefix.

Once you have done this, click Save and enjoy using the prefix system.

Nice.

Considering it's HTML, you should be able to use an image as a prefix too if you wanted (not sure though)

Yeah, images should probably work. This really is a cool system - the MyBB team have done a great job with 1.6 imo

Well, for Prefixes you can add these square brackets "[]".
I have seen this on many forums!

Unfortunately the prefix funtion is broken on my site straight out of the box. All I see is a buttload of "0"s next to every thread and no option to add the prefix. This, I have to say, is quite annoying. http://www.ethical-hackers.org if anyone cares to assist.

Updating for you.....
Yes, I fixed that - theme was a 1.4...and 1.4 did not have thread prefixes..... using a 1.6 template/theme set appears to do the trick
