And yes, I'm talking about OS, stuff like RocketDock that can do cool efects or something, cleaning programs, the antivirus, downloads manager, and many other things you may want to say.

Please note, do not care about the prices or if it's free or not, I'll get it any of the ways. So yeah, Ubuntu or Linux might be my choices, since they're free. But doesn't matter, I'll get it other way. Rolleyes

I might choose Linux for OS and Kaspersky for the antivirus.
I don't have any other ideas for what to choose, help anyone? Blush

Because of the type of forum I'm building (a teaching/guides/self help docs.), I cannot force a guest to sign, but I created an incentive to do so - there are three(3) levels of users (guests, registered, paying) and each one gets some more value (btw, 'paying' is for future - there's a problem with PayPal in Israel).

Well, as you might have read in my introduction thread; I'm a serious RP-er if it comes to Sci-Fi genre. So, I'd like to request a theme, pretty please.

If possible, I'd like the theme to have a vBulletin style, specifically the index page. But, if that's too much work, don't mind it.
I would like it to be dark. So, mainly black, with cyan text colour. Some red lines wouldn't hurt either.

It should, in overall, give a warm welcome, and feeling. And if logo is included; pretty please Sci-Fi genre.

I decided to work with forums quite a while ago. None forum types seemed to interest me, until I saw vBulletin. However, when I saw the amount of pounds they asked of me, it shocked me.

So, after searching for ages, I finally found the perfect suiting forum, which is MyBB. After making a forum there, for my Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy clan, I've also decided to make another forum - an RP forum.

You see, role-playing means a lot to me. I'm a hardcore RP-er - specifically that of Star Wars, Star Trek, Fable and other Sci-Fi RP. A few other interests I have are music, games, girlfriend, studying and of course, playing guitar.

If it comes to music - well, I only adore the known genre; Metal. Yes, metal. Not only standard metal, but also Nu-Metal, Heavy Metal, Trash Metal, Death Metal, and the best of them all: Symphonic Power Metal.
I listen a lot to (old) Nightwish, In Flames, August burns Red, Metallica and Slipknot. And of course, with the two exceptions of Evanescence and Marilyn Manson.

Well, if it comes to games - the ones I love are RPG and MMO games. I play World of Warcraft a lot. I also play Star Wars KOTOR, JKA, SW:TFU, and lots of other RPG games. I also own an Xbox360, PS2, PSP and a PC.

Tired of using that "yourusername.yourdomain.com" username and you want "yourdomain.com"? Well this tutorial will teach you how to do this.

First off, you need to register a domain name.
If you want a free solution, head over to http://www.co.cc to get one.
All you will have to do is sign-up. The domain will be like "yourdomain.co.cc"

If you want a paid solution, you will need to head to a registrar,
Try a good search for a wide variety, or you could just register with Goggle Apps. Another good registrar that I found out about is Innter.net, they have really cheap domains, yet will have to pay in euros, and they have a wide variety of domains. You can get a ".com, .org, .edu, .gov, .info, .asia, .co.uk, .info, .jp etc."

Now once you have your domain registered you will need to change the name servers, this is fairly easy (I use the co.cc here, but is similar for a paid registrar).

At co.cc, once the Domain is registered, on the left, click a option on the left "Manage Domain", then click on the domain you just registered. You should be sent to a page that explains some info about the domain. Here, press "Set-Up".

Make sure that option 1 "Manage DNS" is selected. In this box, press "Add More Name Servers" once, then type in the following for it's respective input box:

Name Server 1 :  ns1.us.editdns.net

Name Server 2 :  ns2.us.editdns.net

Name Server 3 :  ns3.us.editdns.net

It should look like this:

Once it looks in check, press "Set-up".

Now, point your browser over to http://www.editdns.net .

Here, you now need to register, once that process is done press "Control Center", the button is in the blue bar at the top.

Once in the Control Center, do the following:

Make sure "Regular" is elected in the "Domain Type" field
Add "yourdomain.co.cc" to the "Domains" field

It should look something like this:

Once it all checks out, press "Add Domain(s)".

Once the Domain has been added, to the left you will see that its text will be in red, click the pencil next to it.

In this page, you will see some text that looks like this:

Once in this page, open up a new window/tab and head to here:
http://www.selfseo.com/find_ip_address_of_a_website.php

In the text box, type in "yourusername.yourdomain.com" and press "Get IP". In my case this would be "avalon-nation-ms.itriss.com".

You will now see some text pop up with a number, it should look like this:

"Rightclick>Copy" the number that came up.

Now head back to you EditDNS.net window/tab. Back here, where the number is "1.2.3.4", double click it, and paste in the number there, and press "save".

It should look something like this when done:

Now just one more step.

Head to your host's control panel and login. Once in your control panel, look for an option like "Add Domain", or "Domain Manager".

In this page, click the input field and type in "yourdomain.co.cc".
Should look like this:

Now here just press "Add".

Congrats, you can now access your site as:
http://www.yourdomain.co.cc
http://yourdomain.co.cc

instead of:
http://youusername.yourdomain.com

You might need to wait about 30 minutes for everything to set (it actually is supposed to be 24-48 hours, but EditDNS.net does things fast).
